Big Weekend in Batavia: Zombie Walk, BatFest, Football Pairings

Here's what you need to know for all these great events.

 So this is kinda obvious, but I'll say it ... it's a huge weekend in Batavia!

There's tons of events and festivities happening in town. It's supposed to get a little warmer too, so that will make everything twice as fun.

BatFest

When/Where: All day (8 a.m. to 8 p.m.) today, Saturday Oct. 22, , Houston Street and Island Avenue, Batavia

Why Go?: 5K For Batavia United Way, downtown trick-or-treating, hayrides, info booths for local groups, Farmer's Market, costume contest and more!

How Much?: Free admission, but some events require payment (5K registration, market produce)

ZombieWalk

When/Where: 4 p.m. Registration (see below for sites), 5 p.m. Zombie Walk, 6 p.m. Walk Ends at Peg Bond Center, 6:30-8 p.m. today, Saturday Oct. 22, Zombie Dance Party, Batavia Riverwalk, Houston Street and Island Avenue.

Registration locations:

  • on Wilson St.
  • The old church at 347 McKee St.

Why Go?: Have fun turning into a zombie with your friends, do the "Thriller" dance in a large group, and most importantly, raise money for a good cause! Proceeds will go to the Batavia Music Buffs, S.T.A.G.E., Batavia Sports Boosters and Batavia MainStreet.

How Much?: $10 registration fee, additional raffle tickets $10 each, or $40 for 5 tickets. Grand prize is an iPad 2!

When/Where: 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., today, Saturday Oct. 22, gym, 1201 Main St. (Please use Main Street entrance to get into the school)

Why Go?: Support your local Bulldogs.

How Much?: FREE (Note: If you already registered for the light dinner, that's a cost of $5. Registration has closed for food.)
