BATAVIA, IL — A North Aurora man is facing several charges, including reckless homicide, after crashing into a motorcycle Sunday evening, resulting in a man's death, Batavia police said.
Officers were dispatched at 5:12 p.m. to the 400 block of South River Street after receiving a report of a crash involving a motorcycle and a Chevrolet van. An initial investigation indicates the van driver, identified as North Aurora resident Luis Aca-Osorio, 38, was traveling south on the street when he hit the motorcyclist from behind.
The impact ejected the driver off the motorcycle and pinned the vehicle under the van, officials said. Aca-Osorio, who police say was driving under the influence of alcohol, subsequently pulled over to the side of the road before officers arrived.
