Batavia High School grad earns dean’s list recognition from DePaul University
In December, Joseph Nathaniel Narcisa, a junior at DePaul University, got a letter from the Dean of College of Computing and Digital Media congratulating him for earning a spot on the Dean's List for Autumn 2021. This distinction is awarded to high-performing students who achieve a grade point average of 3.5 or above for the quarter. Joseph earned his associate's degree at Waubonsee Community College and started pursuing his major in UX Design at DePaul in Fall 2021.

Shannon Sutton of Batavia (60510) has been named to Southern New Hampshire University's Fall 2021 President's List.
Full-time undergraduate students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.700 and above are named to the President's List. Full-time status is achieved by earning 12 credits; undergraduate day students must earn 12 credits in the fall or spring semester, and online students must earn 12 credits in either EW1 & EW2, EW3 & EW4, or EW5 & EW6.

Belmont University announces fall 2021 dean's list
The following students achieved the Dean's List at Belmont University for the Fall 2021 semester. Eligibility is based on a minimum course load of 12 hours (exclusive of audit and pass/fail courses this semester) and a quality grade point average of 3.5 with no grade below a C (inclusive of audit, pass/fail courses and zero-credit courses).

Dean's, president's lists students named for UA fall 2021 term
A total of 11,979 students enrolled during the fall 2021 term at The University of Alabama were named to the dean's list with an academic record of 3.5 (or above) or the president's list with an academic record of 4.0 (all A's).

Local student named to Missouri State University's fall 2021 dean's list
Each semester, students at Missouri State University who attain academic excellence are named to the dean's list.
For undergraduate students, criteria include enrollment in at least 12 credit hours during the fall semester and at least a 3.50 GPA (on a 4.00 scale).
Kelly Sego, of Batavia, made the list. Sego was among more than 5,000 students named to the fall 2021 dean's list.

Batavia's John Fitch was one of only 73 students to receive two degrees from the University of Iowa
John Fitch of Batavia was one of only 73 students to receive two degrees last month from the University of Iowa. All told, nearly 1,800 undergraduate, graduate and professional students were awarded their degrees at commencement ceremonies that marked the end of the 2021 fall semester.
Fitch earned two Bachelor of Arts degrees from the College of Education. The programs of study were Social Studies Education and Political Science.
Despite the challenges of navigating their college education through a pandemic, Hawkeyes like Fitch persisted. They continued to excel and stretch. To engage and choose and serve.

Knox College students named to fall 2021 dean's list
High-achieving students were named to the Knox College Dean's List for the 2021 Fall Term. To be named to the Dean's List, a student must have earned at least 2.5 credits in the term, with a grade point average of 3.6 or better (on a 4.0 scale).

Arlette Shazer earns degree from the University of Maryland global campus
Arlette Shazer of Batavia earned a Master of Science in Biotechnology from the University of Maryland Global Campus. More than 8,000 students from all 50 states, four U.S. territories, and 26 countries earned UMGC degrees worldwide in fall 2021.

Neha Rajan of Batavia, IL, earned the distinction of Faculty Honors for Fall 2021 at the Georgia Institute of Technology. This designation is awarded to undergraduate students who have earned a 4.0 academic average for the semester.

Francesca Hoffman, of Batavia, graduates from The University of Tampa
Francesca Hoffman, of Batavia, graduated from The University of Tampa on Friday, Dec. 17. Hoffman graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Economics BS.
The commencement ceremony included 1,063 undergraduate and graduate candidates. The ceremony included remarks by Lonnie Bryant, chair of the Department of Finance and professor of finance, and the student challenge speaker.
