Emagine Batavia Wins Commercial Remodeling Award

"Emagine Batavia is truly a stunning entertainment venue and a great asset to our community," officials said of the theater on Randall Road.

BATAVIA, IL — Emagine Batavia, home of what is said to be the largest movie theater screen in Illinois, is the recipient of a commercial remodeling award, city officials announced Monday.

The Batavia Chamber of Commerce honored the picture house, located at 550 N. Randall Road, with the 2023 Ole Award in the commercial remodeling category. The award series recognizes businesses that made significant improvements and investments in Batavia through new construction or remodeling projects. The name "Ole" pays homage to the Swedish settlers who were among the first residents of Batavia.

Emagine, which opened its doors in June 2023, underwent a complete renovation, replacing the former Randall 15 IMAX to become a luxurious and upscale movie theater with 12 state-of-the-art auditoriums. The theater has two private screening rooms, a large-format EMX screen and a Super EMX screen, dubbed by the company as being the largest in the state.
