Arts and Ideas: Lecture - The Impact of the Mexican Revolution on the United States, Dr. Antonio Delgado (Arts and Culture)


To commemorate the 100 year anniversary of the Mexican Revolution (1910), three major impacts of the Mexican Revolution on the United States will be highlighted.

1. Mexican immigration to the US

2. The military invasion of Columbus, New Mexico by the troops of General "Pancho" Villa.

3. The Mexican government expropriation of US oil company properties via the nationalization of Mexico's oil reserves.

This PowerPoint presentation includes historical photographs, period images and recorded music.

This presentation is open to Aurora University students, staff and faculty only.

Dr. Antonio Delgado will also be speaking later in the evening from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the Perry Theater to discuss Early Mexican Chicago: Missing Pages of History. This presentation will be open to the public.
