Batavia Il - On Saturday, August 13 between 6pm and 10pm, Water Street Studios will be hosting its monthly Second Saturdays at the Studio. This event gives members of the public a unique opportunity to wander the vast Water Street Studios complex and talk to artists in their studios while the artists demonstrate their creative techniques. Featured artists will include Jim Kirkhoff (photographer), Kari Kraus (fiber installation artist), Jen Larson (painter) and Jenn Wilson (photographer).
Kirkhoff and Kraus are hosting a show in the Second Floor Gallery titled The Individual and The Swarm. This unique show will juxtapose Kirkhoff's stark black and white photography which focuses on the complexities of urban/suburban life with Kraus's colorful and delicate fabric installations based off of swarm intelligence and other scientific theories. This show will offer viewers an opposing and complementary view of art and various means of expression.
Over Art In Your Eye Weekend, hours at Water Street Studios will be Friday 5p to 9p, Saturday 10a to 9p and Sunday 12p to 4p.
