Farmers Market, Egg Hop: Dates Announced For Batavia 2022 Events

BATAVIA, IL — Amid increasing snow accumulation as a result of Wednesday's snowstorm, having fun activities to look forward to is key.

Non-profit organization Batavia MainStreet unvieiled the dates for a number of events happening in the city throughout 2022. Events including Cocktails in the Park, a downtown block party, and Downtown Dinner Table are scheduled to take place this year.

In a message to the community posted on YouTube Jan. 28, Batavia Mayor Jeffery Schielke listed the events and when they're set to happen.

"We have all those events to look forward to and hopefully if you wear your mask, we'll be able to put those on," Schielke said, adding some events had to be canceled over the past two years, but city staff is "hoping to return them to them to their grand and festive occasions."

Here's a preview of when events will take place in Batavia.

• Downtown Egg Hop: April 16
• Boardwalk Shops: Open Friday, Saturday and Sunday starting May 20 through Dec. 18
• Farmers Market: Will return to River Street Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon starting May 28
• Artisan Collective: June 18, July 16, August 20, Sept. 17 and Oct. 15
• Cocktails in the Park: July 23
• WellBatavia event: May 28
• Downtown Dinner Table event: Aug. 7
• Block Party and Taste of Batavia: Sept. 4
• BatFest: Oct. 29
• Small Business Saturday: Nov. 26
• Winterfest Art Market: Nov. 11-13
• Indoor Farmers Market: Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon Nov. 5 through May
