Refuse Stickers Will No Longer Be Needed In Batavia

Batavia City Council is in the process of reviewing proposals from waste haulers to make changes to how yard waste is collected in the city.

BATAVIA, IL — The refuse sticker program is coming to an end in Batavia, officials announced.

As the city's contract with its refuse and recycling vendor, Waste Management, expires in July, staff are looking into using wheeled toters for both refuse and recycling instead. Currently, locals need to attach a refuse sticker — one costs $3.28 — on each yard waste bag in order for Waste Management to pick it up.
