3 Charged After Burned Body Under Blanket Murder

The body of a man was found badly burned under a smoldering blanket Tuesday morning, according to authorities.

WEST CHICAGO, IL - Two men and a woman are expected in bond court this morning in connection with the murder of a man whose body was found under a smoldering blanket Tuesday morning in West Chicago, according to prosecutors and media reports. DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin said a press conference would get underway at 12:30 p.m. Thursday to "discuss the filing of charges in the recent murder in West Chicago." Berlin and West Chicago Police Chief Michael Uplegger are expected to discuss the case at that time.

The victim's body was found in the 1300 block of Joliet Street at 11:57 a.m. Tuesday. ABC 7 reports firefighters happened upon the body, which was found near a road, while doing training exercises. The badly-burned body was found under a smoldering blanket, according to the Daily Herald.

No additional information on the victim or the suspects' identities was immediately available. As of Wednesday afternoon, authorities said the victim's identity was not known.
