Same Person Robbed Twice at Batavia Apartment: Police

Both robberies occurred earlier in the week at an apartment building in Batavia, authorities said.

BATAVIA, IL — The same person was robbed twice at an apartment building in Batavia this past week. The first incident occurred at about 8:05 p.m. Monday when two men approached the victim in the common area of the apartment building in the 1200 block of East Wilson Street and demanded money, according to a news release from the Batavia Police Department. The suspects removed a piece of jewelry from the victim, which was later recovered at the scene.

Officers searched the area but did not locate the men.

The next day, at about 12:45 p.m., the same victim was reportedly stopped in a stairwell by two men who grabbed the victim and removed money from the victim's pocket, police said. One of the suspects was described as being 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighing 150 pounds. The other suspect was 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighed 150 pounds.

The victim was not injured during either incident, according to the news release.

Authorities do not know if the suspects were the same people in both incidents. The suspects threatened the victim but no weapons were used or seen by the victim, according to police.
