See What Spring Cleaning Programs Batavia Has To Offer

Brush collection, electrics recycling, dead battery collection and an unwanted medication disposal program are among the programs available.

Batavia offers several waste disposal services. From brush collection to household hazardous waste, learn what Batavia has to offer.

Batteries and lightbulbs: Drop-off boxes for dead batteries and lightbulbs (no LED bulbs or holiday lights accepted) are located in the vestibule of City Hall lobby, 100 N. Island Ave.

Brush collection: Curbside residential brush collection begins April 4 for the city’s east side, April 11 for the west in 2022. This is for residents who pay the monthly leaf/brush fee on their utility bill and differs from the yard waste service. There are seven collections between April and Nov. 30. Get the details.

Electronics recycling: Kane County offers electronics including computers, televisions and non-freon appliances, and two drop-off sites including one in Batavia, at 57 E. Fabyan Parkway, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday-Friday. Some fees may apply. Learn more.

Garbage collection: Waste Management provides weekly garbage/refuse and recycling collection. Details on services including weekly, holiday and holiday tree collection dates visit can be found on the garbage, recycling & yard waste collection page.

Household hazardous waste: Residents can schedule a pickup for several items, from antifreeze to fluorescent bulbs to gasoline. Pick up is free to residents, though there is a city-wide limited number of pickups available per month. Get the details.

Unwanted medication disposal program: The Batavia Police Department has a collection box in the front lobby of City Hall, 100 N. Island Ave. Where unused or expired medications may be anonymously and safely decarded. Get the details.

Yard waste: Weekly yard waste collection takes place from mid-March through Nov. 30. With the exception of two free weeks in March, residents need a refuse sticker. Information on where to buy stickers and what is considered yard waste can be found on the yard waste page.
