The book is co-authored by Justin Eisinger, an editor at IDW Publishing, and comics publicist Steven Scott.
"'They Called Us Enemy' is Takei's firsthand account of those years behind barbed wire, the joys and terrors of growing up under legalized racism, his mother's hard choices, his father's faith in democracy, and the way those experiences planted the seeds for his astonishing future," reads the book's description.
The book talk will happen at the library, 10 S. Batavia Ave., as part of its annual One Book, One Batavia reading program. The event is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. and run for an hour.
"They Call Us Enemy" is available for purchase at retailers including Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
