Police Nab Man As He Looks For Home To Burglarize: Cops
The man was charged with armed violence, burglary, and theft.

BATAVIA, IL — UPDATE: Batavia Police say the man they stopped for suspicious activity Monday was linked to a home burglary on August 2. Christian M. Corson, 20, of Cortland, has been charged with armed violence, theft, and home burglary.
At around 12:15 p.m. Monday, officers were conducting a traffic stop and approached Corson as he was walking nearby in the 400 block of Webster. Police say the Corson tried to flee, but was caught by officers and taken into custody.
Police initially believed Corson may have committed a burglary Monday or was looking for a home to burglarize when they arrested him.

It was later discovered that Corson allegedly burglarized a home in the 900 block of Forest Ave. in the morning hours of August 2. Corson is accused of using a knife to slice the screen to a downstairs window and gain entry to the home. They believe his intent was to commit a theft.
In a press release, police say they believe Corson did not successfully burglarize any homes on Monday.

Corson is currently being held at the Kane County Adult Justice Center as he awaits a bond hearing.
