Tesla Passenger Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries After 3-Car Crash: Batavia Police

Four people were hospitalized after the three-car crash at Randall Road and McKee Street, according to police.

BATAVIA, IL — Four people were hospitalized, one with life-threatening injuries, after a three-car crash Wednesday afternoon at the intersection of Randall Road and McKee Street, Batavia police said.

Officers were called at 4:19 p.m. to the intersection for a crash involving a Tesla sedan, a Dodge pickup truck and a Nissan SUV.

The preliminary investigation suggested the Tesla was driving south on Randall Road when it attempted to turn left onto eastbound McKee Street and hit the Dodge, which was driving on northbound Randall Road, according to a news release. Police did not say how the Nissan got involved in the crash.

Two women traveling in the Tesla were hospitalized; the driver's injuries were not life-threatening, but the passenger's were, police said. The man driving the Dodge and an occupant of the Nissan were also hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said they are not releasing additional information about the crash as the investigation remains ongoing.
