Thefts in Batavia Range From Wooden Lawn Ornaments to an iPhone 5
The following information was supplied by the Batavia Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

A wall picture, an iPhone, wooden lawn ornaments, a bicycle and a toy backhoe were among the items reported stolen between May 20 and May 30, 2013, in Batavia. Here's a roundup from the blotter.
Theft Under $500—Someone took a 30-inch by 30-inch wall picture valued at $300 to $500 from the 300 block of South Jackson Street around 3 p.m. May 27, reports said.
Theft Over $500—Someone took an iPhone 5 from the 3-S-000 block of Nelson Lane Road according to a report filed around 6:05 p.m. May 27. The phone was valued at $500.
Theft Under $500—Someone took two wooden lawn ornaments valued at around $75 from the 900 block of Blair Street sometime overnight, prior to 8:57 a.m. May 21, reports said.
Theft Under $500—Someone took a bicycle from the 0-99 block of North Van Buren Street sometime prior to 10:02 a.m. May 21, reports said. No value of the bicycle was mentioned in the report.
Retail Theft—Police arrested Caprice Thomas, 24, of Aurora on charges of retail theft around 10:16 a.m. May 21 from Kohl’s, 251 N. Randall Road, reports said. Thomas posted $150 bond and has a court date of July 2.
Theft Under $500—A juvenile was taken into custody, processed and released for theft under $500 at Kohl’s, 251 N. Randall Road.
Theft Under $500—Someone took a toy backhoe tractor with a broken sand digger valued at $360 from a person at Big Woods Park, 1100 South Raddant Road, within two das of May 20, reports said.
Retail Theft—Police arrested Jerry Marquardt, 49, of Aurora on charges of retail theft, display merchandise under $300 around 3:37 p.m. May 20 in the 300 block of Randall Road, reports said. He posted $150 and has a court date of June 11.
