Here's some ways to enjoy the long weekend in Batavia, Geneva and St. Charles.

2011 is moving at light speed, so enjoy the warm weather the next couple of days. Here's a list of what's going on. Be safe and smile!

Today (Saturday, Sept. 3)

When/Where: 8 p.m., , 300 Crescent Pl, Geneva

Why Go?: Cirrus Falcon is a versatile musical group that plays from a huge catalog of material. The duo will provide tunes to fit the mood. At any given show you might hear classic rock, alternative, acoustic rock, Irish favorites, Jimmy Buffet tunes, country, 60's/70's/80's retro and more.

Cost: FREE (food and beverages sold separately)

When/Where: Two shows, one at 7:30 p.m., the other at 9:45 p.m., both at , 4051 E. Main Street, Saint Charles

Why Go?: The MTV "Jackass" performer brings the "Entirely Too Much Information Tour" to St. Charles.

Sunday, Sept. 4

3. Batavia Block Party

When/Where: 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., North River St. in Batavia. (Come to River and Wilson Streets in Batavia, and head north)

Why Go?: Music, dancing, Bags Tournament with a Cash Prize, $2 Tastings, Drink Specials, 50/50 raffle

How Much?: FREE (donation suggested at entrance)

When/Where: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., , 1 E State St, Geneva, IL (entrance at the Geneva bridge on the East Side of the Fox River)

Why Go?: The music of dulcimers, guitars, banjos, and fiddles will fill the air atalong with folk tales and storytelling by performers from more than 15 states.

How Much?: Donations are encouraged at several booths at the festival with a suggested admission for adults at $15 per day, $10 for teens and seniors. Under 12 are free.

Monday, Sept. 5

5. Folk Festival (Day 2, Sunday)

When/Where: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., , 1 E State St, Geneva, IL (entrance at the Geneva bridge on the East Side of the Fox River)

How Much?: $30 plus two-item food/beverage minimum. 

When/Where: 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., Downtown Geneva, W. State St. and Third St. (Go to artgalleriesgeneva.com for a list of participating galleries.)

Why Go?: A self-guided art walk and reception to showcase the art galleries of Geneva the first Friday of every month. All galleries are within walking distance of each other.
