Window-Smashing Includes Caboose at Depot Museum

Batavia blotter: Here's a roundup of criminal damage to property in Batavia.

Several windows were smashed in Batavia between June 21 and June 23, according to police reports, including on the Caboose of the Depot Museum and a downtown business' display window. Here are the reports:

  • Someone shattered four windows on the west side of the Caboose at the Depot Museum, 155 Houston St., according to a report filed around 8:31 p.m. June 23. The estimated cost to replace the windows is $400.
  • Someone broke the front display window of an office in the 100 block of East Wilson Street, according to a report filed around 9:40 a.m. June 22. The cost to replace the window was estimated at $150.
  • Someone broke two windows valued at $299 sometime between June 21 and June 23, in the 100 block of Pitz Lane, reports said.


Graffiti

  • Someone marked graffiti on the back of a road sign at Island and Houston, according to a report filed around 7:35 a.m. June 25.
  • Someone wrote graffiti on an AT&T technology box in the 1000 block of Raddant Road, according to a report filed around 9:05 a.m. June 20. The cost of cleanup was estimated at $300.

Damage to Vehicles

  • Someone flattened two tires and put scratches on a vehicle in the 1200 block of East Wilson Street, according to a report filed around 9:22 a.m. June 25.
  • Someone damaged a driver’s side door of a vehicle parked in the 1000 block of Willow Lane sometime between 10 p.m. June 16 and 9 a.m. June 17, reports said. The estimated cost to repair the damage was $500.

 

Miscellaneous Property Damage

  • Someone bent a sign post at the intersection of First Street and Lootens Court, according to a report filed around 11:08 a.m. June 25.
  • Someone popped the tires of a bicycle resting on the bicycle rack at 1203 E. Wilson Street, according to a report filed around 4 p.m. June 19. Cost to repair the damage was estimated at $30.
