CHICAGO — S&T Provisions, the longtime 111th Street pizza set-up shop that took the Mount Greenwood neighborhood and the South Side by storm just a few weeks ago with an epic scavenger hunt, is already planning another community-wide promotion. And this one won't require leaving the house. Several local businesses have pitched in to create the massive $12,000 amount in prize giveaways that will start on the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

S&T Provisions Owner Brian Giaretta said 24 local businesses contributed to the prize pool, and S&T will feature one business a day on its Facebook page, which now has more than 14,000 followers.

"Whoever likes every post consecutively will qualify for the drawing," Giaretta said.

Everyone who qualifies will be in the drawing and Giaretta will then pick 20 of the names at random.

Unlike the scavenger hunt that drew thousands to the neighborhood but only had one winner, this contest will have 20 winners. The first two people picked in the drawing will win a paid vacation for two and the 18 others will win $500 each.

To be eligible, participants must click that they are "going" to the Facebook event created by S&T about the giveaway and share it on their own page. As of Wednesday night, the event shows more than 5,000 participants.

This promotion comes just weeks after the community was captivated by a week-long scavenger hunt that saw the coveted "golden ticket" worth $2,000 in cash hide out in a neighborhood cemetery for a week while thousands of people searched up and down 111th Street for days.

In the scavenger hunt, Giaretta would release one clue on Facebook each day and have additional clues available at other Mount Greenwood neighborhood businesses to motivate scavenger hunters to support them.

"Most multi million dollar companies don't do things like this," Facebook user Adam Richard wrote on the S&T page. "S&T is a family/veteran owned and operated LOCAL business, yet they are here having these fantastic contests to not only spotlight their business, but other local businesses as well."

There's also a "Thanksgiving riddle" they have planned for the holiday. Check their Facebook page for more details on that.
