CHICAGO - Police in Chicago's 22nd District are investigating the second attempted kidnapping report in the Beverly neighborhood in a week. This time, surveillance images from the 7-Eleven store at 2421 W. 103rd St. could help identify the two people sought in the investigation.

A police community bulletin states that a Hispanic woman approached a 19-year-old woman and 13-year-old girl inside the store near 103rd and Western around 2:35 p.m. on Thursday and repeatedly asked them if they wanted to see her babies in her car.

According to police, "as the victims tried to disengage from the offender, the offender continued asking the victims to come to her car to see her babies."

Inside the car with the woman was a Hispanic man between 30 and 40 years old, bald with some facial hair and weighing more than 375 pounds.

The reported attempted kidnapping is the second in the neighborhood in just a few days. On Monday night, police said an 11-year-old boy was able to escape an attempted kidnapping by a man and a woman inside a car driving in the alley near 111th and Campbell about a mile away.

19th Ward Ald. Matt O'Shea said in an email to ward residents that police do not believe the two incidents are related, however.
