Teens Arrested In 2 South Side Carjackings
Three juveniles were arrested in connection with recent armed robbery incidents in the 22nd District.

CHICAGO, IL - Three juveniles have been arrested in connection with the string of recent armed robbery events in the 22nd Police District of Chicago. 19th Ward Ald. Matt O'Shea confirmed the arrests made by police in an email blast to ward residents on Tuesday.
The three arrested have been tied to the Nov. 19 carjacking in the 2300 block of West 115th Street in Morgan Park and a Nov. 13 incident in the 9600 block of South Yale.
"As this investigation continues, we will provide you with updates when they become available," O'Shea wrote. "It is important that we as a community remain vigilant, continue to be aware of our surroundings, and report suspicious activity by calling 9-1-1."

An alert from the Chicago Police Department indicates one 16-year-old and two 15-year-olds were the ones charged. According to police, during the incidents, the armed offenders approached the victims while they were seated in their parked vehicles and ordered them to exit. The offenders would then flee the scene in the victim's car.
Police believe these offenders are connected to a larger carjacking ring and the investigation is ongoing.
