Alderman Will Pump Gas To Help Pay For New CPD Bullet Proof Vests
19th Ward Ald. Matt O'Shea will be at Kean Bros Gas Station on 111th Street on Friday to support the "Get Behind the Vest" initiative.

CHICAGO, IL - The City Council representative from the city's 19th Ward will fill tanks and wash windows at the city's last remaining full-service gas station on Friday to raise money for an effort that helps raise money for bullet proof vests for police officers. The Kean Bros Gas Station at 2632 W. 111th St. is donating five cents for every gallon sold from Feb. 10-17 at their business to the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation’s Get Behind the Vest initiative that helps fund the new vests, which should come for individual officers around once every five years.
Helping Kean raise that money from 3-6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 16 will be 19th Ward Ald. Matt O'Shea, a 7-year veteran on the Chicago City Council. O'Shea hopes to fill up hundreds of cars during this time.
The funds raised by Kean will be matched by Athletex Sports & Orthopedic Physical Therapy, Beverly Bank & Trust Company, Alliant/Mesirow Insurance Services and one anonymous donor, bringing the total to .25 cents per gallon during the week at Kean.
