Author Of New Book On The Castle To Visit

CHICAGO, IL - There's a new book out about the most recognizable landmark in Beverly, and the author will be in town this weekend to discuss it and sign copies.

Errol Magidson will present a program on the history of the Castle and its five keepers, and will sell and sign copies of his book, “Chicago’s Only Castle: The History of Givens Irish Castle and its Keepers,” from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 12 at the Givens Castle, 10244 S. Longwood Dr. The building is now home to the Beverly Unitarian Church.

Magidson's book is a follow up to his 2011 documentary with the same name, according to an article published by the Beverly Area Planning Association's The Villager.

The book contains nearly 300 pages and more than 400 images. It covers the entire 130-year history of the structure.
