CHICAGO (BEVERLY) — A popular Beverly neighborhood coffee shop will close its doors at the end of the month. Owners of B-Sides Coffee + Tea said on Facebook this week they will be closing the family business for good at the end of the month, with Jan. 31 set as their final day open at 9907 S. Walden Parkway .

The O'Malley family, which owns B-Sides, said a recent career opportunity in Indianapolis led to their decision to close.

"We have done our best to keep B-Sides open and our amazing staff has made that possible but the time has come for us to close the doors," the statement announcing their upcoming closure read. "The Beverly community has always been very welcoming and supportive."

B-Sides, which opened in the fall of 2017 just one door south of the 99th Street Metra station, was voted as having the best coffee in the neighborhood in a March 2018 Beverly-Mt. Greenwood Patch Twitter poll. The shop was active in the community, providing hot and cold beverage service at 95th Street Farmers Market events and to customers in line outside Beverly Records on Record Store Day.

It's the second month in a row in which a popular Beverly-Morgan Park neighborhood gathering spot has announced its closure. The Ellie's Cafe that opened for nearly eight years at 107th and Hale closed its doors at the end of December.
