BAC Board President Retires

Barb O'Malley will be a "lifetime trustee" after stepping down from her role as the president of the Beverly Arts Center board of directors.

CHICAGO – A recent leadership change in the Beverly Arts Center board of directors was announced as Barb O'Malley, president of the board since 2013 and a member since 2008, said she would no longer be in the role. Instead, she'll be the BAC's first-ever "lifetime trustee" and will continue to participate and work with the board on certain things.

O'Malley is replaced as president by Ed Laginess, a board member since 2013 who most recently served as vice president.

“Barb O’Malley was the right person at the right time to lead the BAC through a challenging time in our history,” Laginess said. “Barb’s ability to blend multiple constituencies and drive the BAChallenge fundraising campaign across the finish line is a testament to her strong leadership. BAC is grateful to for her commitment to helping ensure that the visual and performing arts will continue to thrive in our community long into the future.”
