Beverly Theatre Guild To Perform 'Matilda'
After a year's delay, the cast is returning this weekend for the beloved musical about everyone's favorite child genius.
BEVERLY, IL — Everyone at some point has probably wanted to make objects move just by concentrating very hard. While the science isn’t quite there yet, viewers will soon be able to enjoy the pleasures of psychokinesis on Oct. 8-10, when the Beverly Theatre Guild presents “Matilda the Musical.”
The musical, based on the Roald Dahl novel about a young, hyper intelligent wunderkind unappreciated by all adults except her young teacher Miss Honey, has won 47 international awards, and is playing to sold out audiences all over the world.
“It’s different from any musical you’ve seen,” director Robbie Distasio told the Chicago Tribune. “It’s funny, kooky, magical and whimsical. They’re excited for people to see them perform and to see how they’ve grown from when they first started.”
