Blue Island Band 'Soda Jerks' Plan Show At Barney Callaghan's

The "Soda Jerks" - from "the mean streets of Blue Island" - will make their first Beverly appearance in 5 years with a show on Jan. 20.

CHICAGO, IL - A cover band "from the mean streets of Blue Island" is planning to hit up the Beverly neighborhood for the first time in five years with a show planned for one of the most popular bars in the neighborhood. The "Soda Jerks" will be the main entertainment at Barney Callaghan's, 10618 S. Western Ave. beginning at 9 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 20.

The band describes its style as "Rock n Soul." Band members listed on the group's Facebook page are August Fuller (Guitar/Vocals), Tom Gerez (Bass/Vocals), Alex Fracois (Saxaphone/Vocals), Stephanie Meehan (Trumpet), Andrew Vanderbilt (Percussion) and guests.

This show is billed as "one night only." The band plans to cover songs by Otis Redding, Chuck Berry, James Brown and others.
