Burglar Targets Beverly Apartment Buildings, Cops Warn
Burglaries have occurred during daytime work hours, police say.

Morgan Park 22nd District police are cautioning residents to be alert about burglaries occurring in the Beverly neighborhood.
Police report three burglary incidents. in which an unknown offender has been targeting apartment buildings in the 10400 block of South Hale.
The burglar enters the apartment using a pry tool, then forces the door open. Once inside, the burglar has steals various items. The incidents have occurred during daytime work hours.

Two of the burglaries were reported on Jan. 29, between 8:30 a.m. and 7:30 pm.
One incident occurred Feb. 12, between 4:30 and 7:30 p.m.

Police ask residents to alert their friends and neighbors of these incidents.
Although common sense, it doesn’t hurt to review the following safety tips:
- Secure all windows and doors to your residence.
- Ensure apartment main entry doors are locked and secure.
- Do not allow entry, or buzz in, to your apartment building any strangers.
- Consider the installation of an alarm or surveillance system.
- Keep gates locked and yard fences secure.
- Keep a record of serial numbers for your electronics.
- Keep a photographic record or jewelry items.
- Notify a neighbor, friend, or relative, if you are planning to be out of town.
- Call 911 immediately and provide a detailed description of any suspicious people, including any vehicle description and license plate information.
