Captain Herbert Johnson Memorial Post Office to be Unveiled Sunday in Mt. Greenwood

MT. GREENWOOD -- Congressman Dan Lipinski (IL-3) will officially unveil the ‘Captain Herbert Johnson Memorial Post Office’ this Sunday at 3 p.m. in Mt. Greenwood.

The congressman will be joined by members of Herbie Johnson’s family, Ald. Matt O’Shea (19th) and representatives from the Chicago Fire Department and the U.S. Postal Service.

CFD Capt. Herbie Johnson was died Nov. 2, 2012, while battling flames in the attic of a two-story home in Englewood.

The unveiling is made even more poignant with Monday’s line-of-duty death of another Mt. Greenwood firefighter Daniel Capuano.
