'The Castle' Concert Series Continues In February

Musical performances are planned to raise money for the maintenance of the Givens Castle.

CHICAGO — The "Castle Concert Series" continue in February with three shows planned for the month at the historic Givens Castle and nearby Heritage Gallery. Here's the February schedule for the series, which raises money for the maintenance and restoration of the only castle within the city limits of Chicago at 103rd and Longwood. There's a suggested donation of $20 at the door for all shows.

Saturday, Feb. 2: Eddie Holstein, 7 p.m. at Heritage Gallery, 1907 W. 103rd St. Holstein blends folk, blues and guitar with history and his special brand of humor.

Saturday, Feb. 16: Kathleen Keane, 7 p.m. at Givens Castle, 10255 S. Longwood Dr. Keane is a world-renowned multi-instrumentalist, Irish singer, songwriter and composer who is considered by many one of the world's finest Celtic fiddlers.

Saturday, Feb. 23: David Boyle, 7 p.m. at Givens Castle. Boyle shares impromptu personal stories to correspond with drawings created by Elgin-based artist Chris Palm.
