Chicago Police Plan Roadside Safety Check in Morgan Park
Police will be slowing traffic and pulling drivers off the streets of Morgan Park this weekend, June 3 and June 4.

You may want to avoid texting while driving and rethink that extra cocktail.
The Chicago Police Department will be conducting a roadside safety check in the Morgan Park 22nd District.
The safety check will commence at 7 p.m. Friday, June 3, and end at 3 a.m. Saturday, June 4, at 10000 S. Halsted St.

During the safety check, police officers will slow down traffic, stop cars at regular intervals and watch for drivers who signs of alcohol impairment and other violations.
Chicago police conduct the program year round to ensure drivers are operating their vehicles safely to keep city streets safe for residents and commuters.

The roadside safety check conducted in the Calumet 5th District on May 27-28 resulted in the following:
- Driving Under the Influence - 2
- Unsafe Vehicle Violations - 9
- Driver's License Violations - 7
- Safety Belt Violations - 7
- Insurance Violations - 6
- Traffic Violations (Other) - 4
- Total Citations = 35
