Chicago Police Seek Information on Alleged Restaurant Robber

Police say man is believed responsible for ten smash-and-grab robberies at restaurants in Beverly and Morgan Park.

CHICAGO, IL -- Chicago police are asking the public’s help in identifying a suspect in several restaurant smash-and-grab robberies in the 22nd Police District. The suspect is believed responsible for ten robberies that happened between Oct. 5 and Nov. 2.

Police say the man broke the glass of restaurants, entered the establishments and helped himself to money from the cash registers. The incidents occurred during the overnight hours of 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

  • 1400 block of West 103rd St., 10 p.m. Oct. 5
  • 800 block of West 103rd St, 11:13 p.m. Oct. 11
  • 2100 blk W. 95th St, 4:20 a.m. Oct. 13
  • 10400 block of South Kedzie Ave., 10 p.m. Oct. 16
  • 10300 block of South Kedzie Ave., 12:28 a.m. Oct. 23
  • 9500 block of South Halsted Street, 2 a.m. Oct. 25
  • 9500 block of South Halsted Street, 2:36 a.m. Oct. 30
  • 9900 block of South Western Avenue, 1:47 a.m. Nov. 2
  • 2100 block of West 95th Street, 1:54 a.m. Nov. 2

The suspect is described as an African American male, between the ages of 25 to 35, wearing classes, a black hooded sweatshirt, black sweatpants and white gym shoes. Police said the suspect is carrying a bag..
