City Worker Shot in Face on South Side

A city worker was shot in the face while on the job at a site in the Gresham neighborhood on the South Side, Chicago Sun-Times reports.

The 28-year-old Water Department worker was struck on the side of his face around 8 a.m. in the 1400 block of West 85th Street, police said. The shot was fired by someone who fled in a silver car.

He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. His condition is not known.
