CN100 Game of the Week preview: Girls 3A Mother McAuley Super-Sectional - Rich South vs. Bogan

Rich South and Bogan battle for a trip to state on the CN100 Game of the Week.

Fast Facts: The first half of Monday’s Super-Sectional doubleheader at Mother McAuley will determine a trip to the Class 3A state tournament between Bogan and Rich South. Rich South had to beat Joliet Catholic for the fourth time this season to win its sectional title. Webb serves as the backbone of the Rockets’ team, averaging 15.9 points per game. She surpassed 1,500 career points this season. Lockett is the team’s point guard, averaging 11.7 points per game. Evans is the team’s energy player and also averages 12.5 points per game. Evans was a big key to the sectional title win over JCA, scoring 25 points with 17 rebounds. Nade’ge Jean has made a big impact as freshman off the bench. Byrd leads the Bogan Bengals, averaging 17.3 points per game. Byrd is particularly dangerous from the perimeter, hitting 4.5 threes per game. Preston makes it happen as the team’s assist leader at 2.6 per game and is the person you want to have the ball at the end of a close game. She shoots 87 percent from the free throw line. Both Black and Denman average 5.5 rebounds per game. Bogan has won six straight conference titles and is making their second Supersectional appearance in Gary Bell’s 13-year run as head coach.
