Community Will Line 111th St. For Fallen Cop's Funeral Procession
Expect a tremendous tribute from residents of the city's 19th Ward when Commander Paul Bauer's funeral procession hits 111th Street.

CHICAGO, IL - Residents of Beverly, Morgan Park and Mount Greenwood are expected to come out in full force in tribute to fallen Chicago Police Department Commander Paul Bauer on Saturday when his funeral procession comes through the neighborhood. The procession, which is planned for a specific route from Nativity of Our Lord Church in the city's Bridgeport neighborhood to Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Alsip, is expected to reach the neighborhood at 111th Street and Vincennes Avenue around 12:45 p.m., 19th Ward Ald. Matt O'Shea wrote in an email to ward residents on Thursday.
"We are asking 19th Ward residents to line 111th Street between Vincennes Ave. and Pulaski Rd. in tribute to Commander Bauer," O'Shea wrote. "His service to the City of Chicago will never be forgotten."
Bauer was shot and killed by a man he was pursuing near the Thompson Center downtown on Tuesday. He was a 31-year veteran of the CPD, having most recently served as Commander of the 18th District. From 1994-1998, he was a Sergeant in the 22nd (Morgan Park) District. READ MORE: Fallen Hero Commander Paul Bauer Worked In District 22 In Mid-1990s
