Homecoming Friday For CPD Officer Danny Golden: UPDATED
Residents are asked to line 103rd Street in a show of support for Officer Golden. 19th Ward Office recommends these viewing spots.

CHICAGO — Updated — The Chicago Police Department and other law enforcement agencies will be escorting Officer Danny Golden home this Friday, Aug. 19, from the Shirley Ryan Ability Lab.
Golden was left partially paralyzed after he was shot trying to break up a fight at a Beverly bar when he was off-duty. He has been undergoing rehab. Chicagoans are being asked to line the streets in a show of support for the hometown hero.
Large crowds are anticipated in the Bridgeport and Canaryville area, as well as the Morgan Park, Beverly and Mount Greenwood. The procession is expected to leave the Shirley Ryan Ability Lab is expected to leave around 10 a.m. Friday. The best recommended viewing points include:

- Shirley Ryan Ability Lab east to Lake Shore Drive
- Lake Shore Drive south to Dan Ryan Expressway (via I-55), exit at 31st Street
- 31st Street west to Wells Street
- Wells Street south to 33rd Street
- 33rd Street west to Shields Avenue
- Shields Avenue south to 35th Street
- 35th Street east to Dan Ryan Expressway
- Dan Ryan Expressway south to I-57, exit at Halsted Street
- 99th Street west to Vincennes Avenue
- Vincennes Avenue south to 103rd Street
- 103rd Street west to Pulaski Road
- Escort will end at Pulaski Road (family request)
