CPS Wants $10 Million Back From Byrd-Bennett
Former Schools CEO may have to pay back triple her salary plus kickbacks.

CHICAGO, IL - Chicago Public Schools want $10 million from its disgraced former CEO, Dr. Barbara Byrd-Bennett.
WGN TV and others report current Superintendent Forrest Claypool could soon use a state law to try to force his predecessor to pay back three-times the amount of her total salary and the amount of other kickbacks she received while steering lucrative, no-bid contracts to her former employer, Wilmette-based SUPES Academy.
Byrd-Bennett was first indicted on charges she took bribes on a $20 million no-bid contract with SUPES back in October. She later plead guilty to a total of 15 counts of mail fraud and wire fraus.
