Crooks Rob Unlocked Vehicles in Mt. Greenwood
Spread the word and tell your neighbors to lock their cars, cops say.

Thieves are working the Mt. Greenwood neighborhood, taking items from unlocked vehicles.
Morgan Park 22nd District Police say six cars have been entered in January mostly between 2 and 5 a.m.

- 10500-10600 blocks of S. Albany
- 10700 block of S. Troy
- 11200 block of S. Spaulding
- 10300-10400 blocks of S. Sawyer
One witness reported observing a male, white, 25-35 years-old, 5’02, 155lbs, short sandy hair, light complexion, wearing a black coat, carrying a backpack and black plastic bag on Jan. 16.
Police offer the following commonsense safety tips, including locking your vehicle at all times:

- Do not keep anything of value in your vehicle that can be viewed from the outside, especially portable GPS units, cell phone chargers, purses, briefcases, loose change.
- Park your car in a secure garage or well-lit area.
- Consider installing an audible alarm in your vehicle.
- Be aware of this situation and alert neighbors in the area about this crime.
- Call 911 immediately and provide a detailed description of any suspicious people including any vehicle description and license plate information.
