Design Your Own T-Shirt At New Mt. Greenwood Store
"The Plug T-Shirt Store," where you can have your very own T-shirt design made in minutes, is open on 111th Street in Mount Greenwood.

CHICAGO, IL - Among the newest additions to the business community in Mount Greenwood is a store where shoppers can have their own design on a T-shirt within minutes. "The Plug T-Shirt Store" opened in January at a storefront at 3652 W. 111th St., just east of where Marie's Catering stood in the heart of the neighborhood.
Much of the store is filled with blank apparel like hoodies, sweatshirts and t-shirts, owner David Burchett said. Customers can come in, pick out a design that's displayed or provide one of their own and then have someone on-site put the finishing touches on the clothing.
"Most customers spend more time picking something out than it takes us to cut something," said Burchett, who operated the business out of a smaller and less accessible space in Alsip for the past few years.

"We wanted to grow and we decided on Mt. Greenwood," Burchett, a lifelong South Sider who has called Back of the Yards, Ashburn and now Mt. Greenwood home, added. "We looked at Washington Park, Oak Lawn, Evergreen Park. Mt. Greenwood seems to support itself and everyone works together. The businesses here all have good track records. It's a great community."
Burchett, who works with his wife, Juana and business partner, Issa Webb on the venture, may see an uptick in activity right off the bat. There's plenty of green in stock for the South Side Irish faithful to get creative with designs ahead of parade day.

"We're prepared for that," he said, noting that the current best seller is a pink women's tee with green lettering: "All The Pretty Girls Live In Mt. Greenwood."
