DISCOVER AN ABUNDANCE OF LITERARY GEMS AT CHICAGO'S BIGGEST BOOK BINGE JULY 23-26

Lose yourself in a treasure trove of books at the Newberry's 31st Annual Book Fair

WHAT: There’s a book for every reader at Chicago’s biggest annual used book binge. The Newberry Book Fair, sponsored by Whole Foods Market Chicago, July 23-26, offers up more than 120,000 books in 70 different categories, including cookbooks, literature, children’s series, biographies and foreign language texts. And with most books priced at only two dollars, book worms and casual readers of all ages can get their summer reading fix without breaking the bank.

Whether you’re looking to build your personal library, seeking out a unique gift or simply browsing for a new beach read, the Newberry Book Fair has you covered. The sale even extends beyond books, including a wide selection of music, movies, sports memorabilia and more. Be sure to arrive early, as the best finds go fast!

If you’re browsing the Book Fair on Saturday, July 25, be sure to check out the Bughouse Square Debates in Washington Square Park (aka Bughouse Square), just across from the Newberry’s main entrance. A longtime Newberry tradition, the Debates celebrate Chicago’s long and proud history as a hub of free speech. Visitors will have the opportunity to participate in debates, heckle the speakers (good naturedly, of course) and enjoy live music and food trucks.
