Fire Heavily Damages Historic Train Depot

The Chicago Fire Department is investigating the cause of a fire that heavily damaged the Morgan Park Rock Island Metra train depot.

CHICAGO, IL -- Fire broke out at the Morgan Park Rock Island-Metra Station on Sunday afternoon. The 125-year-old train depot first opened in 1892. The depot sustained severe damage, said Ald. Matt O’Shea (19th).

The cause of the fire is under investigation. No injuries were reported.
