According to the Office of National Drug Control Policy, women face different obstacles when struggling with substance abuse. St. Marin de Porres House of Hope in Chicago provides females with a supportive community where women and their children recover from their addiction.
The facility is the beneficiary of the Fit Code (Beverly, McCook, and Mokena) monthly workout for a cause.
The workout will be held on Saturday, December 19 at 9 a.m. The fundraiser is open to members and nonmembers, and it will be held at Fit Code’s Beverly location at 10418 S. Western Ave., Chicago. Those attending should arrive 15 minutes early to sign up and complete a waiver.
