Flu Shots Given Saturday At 19th Ward Service Office

Quadrivalent and senior citizen flu vaccines will be used Saturday, Sept. 18, at the 19th Ward which both provide a higher level of coverage

CHICAGO — The 19th Ward is teaming up with Jewel-Osco this Saturday, Sept. 18, host a flu shot clinic. The clinic runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the 19th Ward Office, 10402 S. Western Ave.

Participants are asked to bring their photo ID and insurance cards if available. Jewel-Osco will bill your insurance but there will be no charge to patients; if your insurance does not cover the flu shot, you will not receive a bill. A 10 percent-off grocery coupon (up to a $20 value) will be provided to everyone who gets the flu vaccine.

Health officials say it's safe to get the flu shot and the COVID-19 vaccine. Getting a flu shot is more important than ever as COVID-19 cases rise, not only to protect yourself and your family from the flu, but to help reduce the strain on the health care system. The CDC recommends anyone over the age of 6 months to get a flu.
