Four-Legged Friends Celebrated At Smith Village

Presenting the winners of the 12th annual Smith Village Senior Living Community Pet Parade.

CHICAGO — Smith Village Senior Living Community went to the dogs last Friday as neighborhood pooches strutted their stuff in the 12th annual pet parade July 23 at the pet-friendly life plan community’s Beverly campus.

Residents of the retirement community served as judges, voting for four-legged entrants based on personality, cuteness and outfits. The three top pooches were rewarded with baskets full of treats and toys. Other pets received concession doggy bags.

Misty, 13-year-old black lab, earned third place honors with her owner Kelly Everett, of Beverly.
