Free Community Bike Ride Set For Saturday In Mount Greenwood
Rep. Fran Hurley and Sen. Bill Cunningham will host a family-focused bike ride through the 19th Ward June 11. Kid's bike to be raffled off.
CHICAGO — Residents can “bike across America” without having to leave the 19th Ward, and hang out with state lawmakers Sen. Bill Cunningham (18th District) and Rep. Fran Hurley (35th District) this Saturday, June 11. Families can get their bikes out of the garage and meet up Mount Greenwood Park, 3721 W. 111th St., Chicago. The rise will last from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
“With school out and summer beginning, now is a great time to bring out your bike and join us for a fun, family-friendly ride around the neighborhood,” Hurley said. “This will be a relaxing family-focused event and I hope you can join us.”
Riders will be escorted by CPD 22nd District police officers as they tool around the neighborhood for about an hour with four planned stops. The ride will end back at Mount Greenwood Park for a health snack and raffle for a child size bike. No registration required. Questions? Call 773-445-8128.
