FREE Document Shredding This Saturday For 19th Ward Residents

Bring your unwanted papers to Crosswinds Church on Saturday, Sept. 12, and have them shredded for free.

CHICAGO — No doubt the paper in your house has piled up while sheltering at home. If you have sensitive documents and other unwanted papers bring them to Crosswinds Church, 10835 S. Pulaski Road, Chicago, and have them shredded for free from 9 to 11 a.m. this Saturday, Sept. 12.

Ald. Matt O'Shea (19th), Sen. Bill Cunningham (18th District), Rep. Fran Hurley (35th District) are hosting the free document shredding event.

19th Ward residents can bring their unwanted papers to be shredded and later recycled by the Midway Document Destruction Mobile Shredding Truck.

Document shredding is one of the most effective tools in preventing identity theft. Shredding documents also has positive environmental impacts; once shredded, all paper is recycled, thereby reducing the amount of waste in landfills.

Any documents to be shredded must be unbound; please remove any staples, clips or paper clips before arrival.
