Funeral Services Set For David Mahay
David Mahay, the son of a Chicago police officer, will be remembered with a visitation on Thursday and a funeral on Friday.

CHICAGO, IL - Funeral services have been set for David E. Mahay, the 28-year-old son of a Chicago police officer who was killed in a single-car crash on Interstate 294 over the weekend in Worth. Mahay will be remembered during a visitation on Thursday at Andrew J. McGann & Son Funeral Home and Friday with a prayer service, funeral service and cemetery service.
Mahay was the driver of a car that crashed into a barrier on I-294 near the Chicago Ridge Mall exit early Sunday morning. A home address for Mahay was listed as having been in the 10500 block of South Central Park Avenue in Mount Greenwood.

An obituary posted on the McGann Funeral Home website indicates Mahay was the son of Chicago Police Officer Edward Mahay and Marie (nee Burke) Mahay. One of his two brothers is also a Chicago police officer, as was his late grandfather.
Mahay was a paramedic with Maxim Healthcare Services at Amazon.

The visitation will be held from 2-9 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 30 at McGann Funeral Home, 10727 S. Pulaski Road. A prayer service will be there from 9-:15 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 1. The funeral service that day will begin at 10 a.m. at Queen of Martyrs, 10233 S. Central Park and the cemetery service is set to begin at 11:45 a.m. at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 6001 W. 111th Street in Alsip.
