Globetrotting Marist Students Visit Europe, Buenos Aires, Disney World Over Spring Break
Marist High School students expand learning beyond the classroom during spring break, touring Europe, Buenos Aires and Disney World.
CHICAGO—Marist High School students spent spring break globetrotting to Argentina, across Europe and to Walt Disney World, expanding their learning far beyond the classroom for immersive educational and performance experiences.
Cultural Exchange in Buenos Aires
Continuing a longstanding international partnership, 13 Marist students traveled to Buenos Aires, Argentina, as part of the World Language Department’s exchange program with Colegio Champagnat in Buenos Aires.

Students reunited with their exchange partners, who previously visited Marist, and were welcomed into their homes for a fully immersive cultural experience. Throughout the trip, students attended classes, explored the city’s historic and cultural landmarks, and experienced daily life alongside their host families.
Highlights included visits to Casa Rosada, La Boca, Caminito, and the San Telmo neighborhood, as well as an excursion to El Tigre to explore the Paraná Delta. A traditional day at Estancia Don Silvano offered students the opportunity to experience Argentine culture through horseback riding, a classic asado lunch, and gaucho demonstrations.

The trip concluded with a farewell celebration at Colegio Champagnat, leaving students with lasting friendships and a deeper appreciation for global culture.
10-Day European Educational Experience
A group of 37 Marist students embarked on a 10-day journey through Italy, Austria, Germany, and Switzerland, exploring some of Europe’s most historic cities and breathtaking landscapes.
The trip began in Verona, Italy, where students visited Juliet’s House and the city’s Roman amphitheater. In Venice, they toured St. Mark’s Basilica, the Doge’s Palace, and the Rialto district, and observed a traditional glassblowing demonstration.
Traveling through the Alps, students continued to Salzburg, Austria, visiting Mozart’s birthplace and exploring the city’s historic sites. In Germany, highlights included Garmisch-Partenkirchen and a visit to Neuschwanstein Castle, the iconic structure that inspired Disney’s Sleeping Beauty castle.
The group also visited Liechtenstein and Lucerne, Switzerland, where they toured Old Town, crossed the Chapel Bridge, and enjoyed a scenic lake cruise. The experience concluded in Italy’s lake region with visits to Lake Maggiore and the Borromean Islands.
Marist Band Performs at Walt Disney World
Marist Band students traveled to Orlando for a performance at Walt Disney World, combining musical development with unique behind-the-scenes opportunities.
Students participated in a Disney Soundtrack Sessions workshop, working with a professional Disney clinician to rehearse and record a synchronized performance to film. The experience culminated in a recorded Moana medley.
The band also performed at the Waterside Stage in Disney Springs, showcasing their talent with a diverse musical program. In addition to their performance, students visited multiple parks, including Epcot, Magic Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios, along with Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure.
Throughout the trip, students demonstrated responsibility, adaptability, and strong character, representing Marist with pride both on and off the stage.
