CHICAGO — Volunteers are needed to help cleanup the neighborhood. The Beverly Area Planning Association will hold its annual community-wide "Clean and Green" from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 27. BAPA has various work sites listed on its website, with several neighborhood parks and Metra stations on the list. A number of slots are open for volunteers at all these locations.

Helpers will be provided garbage bags, brooms, rakes and shovels. Officials say you can also bring your own equipment if that's preferred.

Students who participate can earn community service hours.
