Holiday Bingo Will Support Small Business In Beverly/Morgan Park

CHICAGO — A "Shop Local Holiday Bingo" is how business leaders in one Chicago neighborhood are planning to make sure small businesses are supported on Small Business Saturday and throughout the holiday season this year. Twenty-five local businesses in Beverly and Morgan Park are participating in the holiday bingo game that runs from Saturday, Nov. 30 until Sunday, Dec. 28.

Neighborhood shoppers will pick up a card at any of the participating business and get a sticker when they make a purchase. The bingo cards will have 25 spaces, with each business taking up one space. The shopper will then have to follow the card to see which businesses to support next.

Once they have a Bingo (five across, down, diagonal or four corners plus center), they drop their card off at the offices of The Beverly Review, 10546 S. Western Ave. to pick up a Morgan Park Beverly Hills Business Association tote and be entered into a drawing to win a $25 gift card from the participating business of their choice.

"As always, the goal of this promotion and others is to raise awareness of the wonderful businesses in Beverly/Morgan Park and help business owners engage with their customers, both new and old," Caroline Connors, executive director of the Morgan Park Beverly Hills Business Association, said.

Shoppers who get a sticker on the entire card of 25 businesses will be entered into a separate raffle to win a $100 gift card from one of the participating businesses.

The fun all starts on Small Business Saturday, when the business association will kickoff the event at with a "welcome center" celebration from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Ain't She Sweet Cafe, 9920 S. Western Ave.

Connors said shoppers can pick up a game card there, a free Shop Small tote and enjoy a complimentary cup of coffee, pastry and holiday music.
