'Hoping It's Not Her': Husband Says of Body Found in Drain

Is the body found wrapped in plastic that of Latasha Nevitt? Her husband Isaac is praying that it's not.

Family of a woman missing since 2011 are awaiting autopsy results on a body found in a drain pipe Wednesday.

A water department employee found the body inside a valve basin about 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, near West 107th Place and South Loomis Street, ABC7 reports.

The drain is just yards away from the home of Latasha Nevitt, a 30-year-old mom and Everest University student who disappeared in October 2011.

Family have said she left her home in the 1300 block of West 107th Street on Oct. 10, 2011, to run to a corner store. She never returned.

"I hope it's not her," her husband Isaac Nevitt told NBC. "I hope she's still out there somewhere."

They have three children: a 13-year-old daughter, and 4-year-old twins. Latasha was reportedly studying to be a dental hygeniest.

Nevitt's mother Brenda Morgan said police were being "very tight-lipped" about the discovery.

The body was too frozen for an autopsy to be completed Thursday.
